CHIEF'S GRANDSON MEETS THE CLAN AT CASTLE PARTY

A very special Cameron was introduced to other members of the clan at a gathering last week at Achnacarry House, the home of clan chief Donald Hamish Cameron of Lochiel.

He was Lochiel's grandson, seven-week-old Donald Andrew John Cameron making his first public appearance at Achnacarry.  The baby is the son of Lochiel's older son Donald, the heir to the chiefship.

As the infant was carried round the room in the arms of his mother, Lady Cecil, glasses were raised in a toast, and on behalf of all present, retired stalker Mr. Alex Stevenson handed over a small gift.

One very honoured guest who received a special welcome from Donald Angus was his former teacher at the village school, Miss Lily Kennedy.

Two-year-old Catherine Mary, the baby's "elder" sister, was also present and had no lack of admirers as she toddled around the room with her nannie.

A Christening ceremony for the new baby held on Sunday was conducted by Dean G.K.B. Henderson and Father Maclean.

The baby's Godfather, his uncle Johnny Cameron, has a post in Tokyo and could not be present at the Christening but during the service he made a phone call from Japan to extend his best wishes.

Lochiel acted on his behalf during the ceremony.
