CAMERON RALLY TO BE HELD AT CHANCE HARBOUR AUGUST 3 TO MEET HEREDITARY CHIEF

Chance Harbour-

Pictonians by name and blood of Cameron will rally August 3 to greet the twenty-sixth hereditary chief of Clan Cameron, Donald Hamish Cameron of Lochiel.  A public reception is being planned by the St. Andrew's Society, to which all persons of Scottish decent will be invited.

Cameron of Lochiel comes to Canada in July, and after a cross-country tour, opens the Gaelic Mod in Cape Breton, Aug 6.

The Pictou County Cameron rally will be held at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. John S, Cameron, Chance Harbour.  There will be a brief program of speeches, pipe music, and Highland dancing.  The chairman will be Rev. John Cameron, a native Pictonian, now Presbyterian minister at Dartmouth.

Arrangements for the rally are being made by the St. Andrew's Society, under the chairmanship of the President, James M. Cameron.  While all persons named Cameron and with Cameron blood, are particularly welcome to attend and meet their chief, the St Andrew's Society is inviting any and all.

It is the first time that the Camerons will hold a rally in Pictou County, and it is understood that Camerons of the county now living in other parts of Canada and the United States are planning to return this summer to attend.
