Rejoicings in Lochaber
from The Scotsman
July 2, 1834

On Saturday the 14th ult., Donald Cameron, Esq. of Lochiel, and his Lady, the Hon. Lady Vere Louisa Catherine Hobart, sister of the Earl of Buckinghamshire, who had never visited the country before, were welcomed to Lochaber by the numerous tenantry on his estates.  The party met with a most cordial reception at Fort William, and at the different places through which they passed.  Many of the neighbouring gentry and tenantry assembled on the occasion.  The day was spent in festivities and rejoicings, and every demonstration of attachment and respect was shown by their tenants and neighbours for Lochiel and Lady Vere.
