Major Donald Cameron of Lochiel, the 26th chief of the Clan Cameron, inspected 41 recruits of the Cameron Highlanders at Cameron Barracks, Inverness, yesterday - but there was not a single Cameron in the ranks.

Said Lochiel: "Ours is a small clan numerically.  But," he added, "our clan and regiment have a great tradition."

He presented trophies and certificates to the outstanding soldiers in the parade.  They were" Champion recruits Privates F. Stott of Dundee, C.J.M. MacDougall, of Liverpool, and G. Moore, of Richmond (Surrey).  Best rifle shot, Private D. Boldis__ of Leeds.
